Announcements

GAIA Quartet is thrilled to announce Hsiu-Ping Patrick Wu as our Composer-in-Residence. Patrick has been an invaluable collaborator with the quartet, helping to shape the concept of our debut album In Time and contributing two original works that will be featured on the recording. Over the years, we have performed several of his pieces, each one expanding our musical voice and deepening our connection to audiences.

Beyond the music, Patrick has also supported us in organizing our Canadian tour, as well as strengthening GAIA’s ties with new communities. His creativity, generosity, and vision continue to inspire us, and we are grateful to share this ongoing collaboration with him.

In Time is GAIA Quartet’s debut album, featuring works exclusively by living composers, many of whom they commissioned. The album explores different experiences of time—how we feel it, how we lose it, and how we hold onto it. From the urgency of constant motion to the quiet reflection of memory, each piece offers a unique perspective on how time shapes our lives. Committed to making contemporary music more engaging, GAIA pairs the album with personal reflections and listener prompts, inviting audiences to connect with the music in their own way. In Time will be available on all major streaming platforms.
